One of the goals of the Beginning Cyclist Rides is to provide opportunities for riders to have a variety of experiences and challenges cycling offers. With the Winter season beginning and the sun beginning to set earlier each week, the group is now having the opportunity to learn riding skills at night with lights. Every member of the group utilized headlights and taillights during the ride this week. On future rides, the group is planning additional evening ride opportunities to further night riding skills.
If you are new to cycling and want to learn to ride effectively, please consider joining the Beginning Cyclists Ride Group. The BCR is designed as instructional based rides and are specifically designed for beginning and novice cyclists. All BCRs are guaranteed to be NO DROP rides. All participants are required to wear cycling helmets to participate in this ride activity. If you are not currently a member of the Waco Bicycle Club or have not participated in a prior BCR ride, you are required to sign a waiver form in order to participate in any BCR activity. We strive to make the rides fun and an educational experience for beginning cyclists. We take various routes on all types of roadways and streets at a distance and pace participants will feel comfortable. Prior to and following the rides we plan a social time for participants to get to know one another, share experiences, and have opportunities to ask questions about various aspects of road cycling.
