Saturday 4/12/8 eight riders participated in the Lancaster Country Tour. Everyone met at the Wal-Mart in Bellmead at 6 am and stopped for a short break in Hillsboro (Mickey D’s) for breakfast. When we arrived in Lancaster the weather was almost perfect. Nice and cool, somewhere near 50 degrees. Shortly after getting to the parking lot my son Josh met up with us.

Tom seemed to be overly enthused about the entire event.

Mark, Monica and Jesse were all smiles and ready to go.

Jesse, Tom, Russell, Pam and Josh

It was hard to tell how many riders attended. The starting line was in the Town Square. You could not see everyone that was lined up. There were riders as far as you could see in both directions.

Mark and Monica took advantage of the strong tailwind that made the beginning of the ride enjoyable. Mark is really enjoying his new set of road wheels. Not a mountain bike!

This was one of the break areas in Palmer Texas.

Pam and Jesse were glad to finish after riding through the hills and into the wind the last 25 miles. All of our riders finished the 62 mile challenge and my GPS said it was actually 64 miles.

This was the longest ride that several of our riders have ever finished. Josh and I managed to finish in a little less than four hours. What a great accomplishment for someone that just started riding. Happy Riding RickeyT
