Thursday 5:30 Beginner Mountain Bike Ride Starting

The time has changed and we now have enough daylight to start up our Thursday Beginner/Advanced Beginner Mountain Bike Rides at Cameron Park again! Here’s the information you need to know:
Where: Redwood Shelter Parking Lot, Cameron Park
When: LEAVE the parking lot at 5:30. Get there a little earlier to get your bike unloaded, etc.
Who: Beginner and Advanced Beginner Mountain Bikers (or experienced riders who want a slower ride). Dawn will be leading the beginners. Jesse can’t lead a ride until April, so Chris M will be filling in for him with the advanced beginners.
What: You will need a mountain bike in working order (Wal-mart bikes are fine for this ride!), a helmet, and some sort of hydration (water bottle on a cage on your bike or a hydration backpack).
EVERYONE is welcome on these rides! The pace of the beginner ride will be that of the weakest rider. This is EXPECTED! If you are the weakest rider and are at the end of the group, YOU are the reason we have this ride!!! You will improve and someone else will most likely take your place eventually, so don’t be concerned about ‘slowing the group down’!
Children under the age of 12 MUST be accompanied by a parent or an adult in charge of them. Children between the ages of 12 & 17 need to have an adult close by in case of an emergency. All Parents: Be sure to give your phone number to your child’s ride leader so they can contact you if necessary!
Everyone on this ride must sign a WBC release form. If you are a club member, you already have! If you are not a club member, download the form from the bike club website (www.wacobicycleclub.com – click on downloads), fill out the form, and bring it with you. (The release form is the same thing as the membership form. If you pay $20 for the year, it’s a membership form. If you don’t, it’s a release form! If you want to join the club, you can give the release form and money to Dawn at the ride. If you don’t want to join the club, just give the release form to her.)
