May Breakfast Ride · 05/25/2008 02:54 PM

Our May Breakfast Ride was Saturday May 24th. We met at the Coffee Station in Crawford Texas. Josh and I made the ride from the house to Crawford and had breakfast with several members of the club. Bob also made the ride to Crawford from his house in McGregor. It was cloudy, humid and hot from the start. The wind was “Typical Texas”. If you wait for a day that does not have wind here you might not get to ride. Mike said that we might not have lots of long hard climbs but we do have WIND! Everyone decided to go East out FM 185 and North on FM 938. At some point we decided to go to Oglesby TX.

My camera bit the dust at the Cedar Hill Ride and these photos are complements of Josh and the IPhone. This first photo was taken in downtown Oglesby. Everyone decided at this point to ride to Mother Neff State Park.

On the way to Mother Neff Bob lead the way. This is Mike drafting off of Bob.

We took a short break at the intersection of FM 107 and Park Rd. Shortly after stopping someone noticed riders coming up the hill from the park.

The riders were from the Temple Bike Club and were pre-riding the Temple Tour that takes place next weekend. We visited while all of their members caught up with the fastest riders. They had quite a long climb from the park and were ready for a break. The ride ended up being about 40 miles long. Josh and I took a short cut home when we reached McGuffey Rd. We had a nice 57 mile ride for the day.
